Just got through Victory Road.
Strangely, some of the Ace Trainers had basically full fledged teams, complete with Megas, but the Ace Trainer Duo at the end still had a Nidoking and Nidoqueen which I'm pretty sure was unchanged from the original, and I think a few other trainers were like that too. Not really complaining, just an observation I guess, the dev probably just forgot or didn't bother.
Speaking of which I was expecting SOMETHING before entering the Pokemon League and to my surprise, the dev himself showed up to challenge me, apparently wanting to make sure I was ready for the Elite Four. I was ready for a brawl, and he sends out a Gigalith at Lv 100.
I was actually freaking out a little, especially 'cause his trainer cut in to say "Time to lose." and then the mad man just sends out five Shedinjas just to mess with you. After that grueling ordeal I'm finally ready for the Elite Four. And we're off to a good sign when both Nurse Joy and one random NPC basically says "you're fucked lol".
I've come this far; we'll give it our all. Volcarona is almost unstoppable once set up, and since they gave me Heavy Duty Boots in Victory Road I expect there to be Stealth Rock in every battle, although I gave my Rotom Defog anyway.
