Why are you concerned about ace specs? Are they introducing a BW-XY or BW-only format? You should first get an actual archetype to play (or the core 20 or so trainers you always have to have LOL) and then worry about the vanilla 1-offs that slot into any deck you play; you can usually get away with playing the evolution lines for Comp Search or Dowsing if you really need the effects and cutting some consistency/redundant cards to make the space. There's no replacement but if you're just playing casually you won't be bothered most of the time.
Only problem is you're now playing a utility evolution/combo line in a big basics format/game...
