Hypnospace and Katana aren't JRPGs lol. Terranigma is a really good SNES action RPG, great plot and amazing graphics/music, but never came to the west even though it's fully English in the EUR release. If you're a fan of LttP or Secret of Mana, it's a lot like those.
I love the whole Quintet trilogy (Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia/Terranigma). For anyone reading this looking for good retro JRPGs, they're definitely worth a shot.
