SwSh is the most bare content-wise in multiple ways, much of what would be standard in every other pokemon game, whether at its base or enhanced, is replaced by a not that large dull Wild Area, but somehow this is being made up for by paying $30 more dollars for more of what will likely be more dull Wild Areas? I'm not saying there isn't *some* nice/fun stuff in here or in the game at all but overall it is a skeleton built around the selling point being Raids and I'm absolutely baffled at how people are just... glossing over the noticeable lack of polish and features. I don't think enhanced versions were a great solution by any means either but at least in most cases there were improvements and effort and what felt like *care* in the whole package. SwSh is mostly hollow and it overshadows the little enjoyment I did get out of it.
Also "minor" story changes weren't so minor? Most of the time they fixed up the problems base stories/characters had imo. There's nothing to say GF won't eventually do a third version to milk more money but if they don't, SwSh stays meh, arguably worse than base games of all previous gens. Anyway it's just sad af at how hard people are defending this mediocre shit almost everywhere I look and downplaying what enhanced versions brought to each gen to prop up another predatory practice. :')
