If you are a beneficiary of nepotism then you are exempt from having to prove yourself in a video game, and you can make fun of the people who aren't as those who "press buttons good" if they actually rise up to the challenge and place regularly. That's when one realises that there is no use currying favour with a community in which none of its members are respectable (i.e. that they are worth making an effort for), and that communities of any kind inherently serve themselves before their subject matter. See poor players like Super_Yan who mash specials in Samurai Shodown for a month, drop the game after getting bodied and then have a high influence in the SNK community because they have the right opinions. Beneficial to them is the fact that, because they are shit at the game and don't play, they have no reputation to uphold, no pride and thus nothing to attack them over. It takes very little effort to find a way to downplay someone's achievements, but if you do not have any achievements then they can not be belittled.
