When I learned about pokemon breeding, I thought you could get hybrids between mons in the same egg group, like if you put a houndour and growlithe in the daycare, they would have a mixed breed baby, like dogs irl. I had no knowledge of programming and realized that putting an entire list of hybrid possibilities would fill the DeX up to HUGE, impractical levels. I was aware enough to know the technology wasn't even in the same lightyear as giving each pokemon their own genome, though.
