>>28949117No reason it couldn't just get Hone Claws, too. I think Swords Dance is likely since physical Grass types often get it and Talonflame has now set a precedent for raptorial birds getting it. High Jump Kick might be a bit less likely because that's technically a knee kick, and Rowlet3 has those backwards-bending ankle joints of typical bird legs. Jump Kick is more like a drop kick so that would be acceptable.
Realistically, we all know that if this thing gets tapped as a GameFreak favorite then it'll get whatever the fuck it needs. The hints that Ash is getting Rowlet and the thought put into its design suggest that they are trying to get a new Greninja going here. Weird coverage moves? Tinted Lens? Gale Wings? A unique and useful ability? GameFreak can provide if they see fit.
I'm most interested in the stats. Rowlet has high HP and was the middleman for speed, but that has changed in the past and could change again. It would be better off Physical than Speciql unless I got CompoundEyes or No Guard or some shit, which would make things like Hurricane or Grass Whistle nasty. Most of the moves I could see it making use of are physical, and the high HP may be to provide a Brave Bird recoil cushion. I love this Pokemon conceptually, shaky physics be damned, and I hope it runs out at least respectable in battle.
