Early PM2019 had amazing character acting animation. People don't remember how solid the movement was early on in the series.. The one scene in the first Hoenn episode comes to mind where Mr. Mime was leading everyone in some kung fu exercises.
It was a full minute of smooth, continuous motion with over six characters slowly taking part in the exercise. The team picked such an arbitrarily challenging way to open the episode without any second thought.
I know COVID fucked up the team pretty badly, but things shouldn't still be so bad, right? We haven't gotten back to the quality of the EARLY PM days yet, and we probably won't until the series is over. Did their entire infrastructure get fucked? I really like the artstyle of PM but the animation is undeniably shit.
