>>43845188How did I do with my Arabic? I took 2 semesters worth, and while I can't speak it or listen to it (The different vocalizations make it very hard to understand especially with native speakers who speak a mile a minute) I at least can read and write it in an elementary sense, but I like seeing if if native speakers think I do it well
German is a fun language to learn, and when you realize that English is just a child of both Latin and German, it becomes easier.
The only languages I can't really break down and understand are the Slavic Cryllic languages such as Russian, Finnish or Swedish because while similar to the Western Lexicons, they follow their own rule sets that make it...how to say... difficult to internally parse beyond the culture filter. I always found Eastern tongues such as Japanese, Korean and Chinese easier, because they do not have that illusion of a Western Lexicon, which means a complete filter swap in understanding...the Cryllics make you lower your guard a bit.
