Yajima flunked the execution on it with the XYZ season (Season 17 and 18 were good), but did a better job than Norihiko Sudō for BW. Yajima can't write a long-term story like for the Pokemon Anime, obviously. But give the fatso credit where it's due. His Storyboard is really good and his cinematic direction pre-XYZ beats out most of JN's in a nutshell.
