Look at Froakie for example it has a pretty obvious design concept, sleek frog with the bubbly thingies, it keeps them as frogadier and even as greninja (although only on its elbows and knees). I am 100% fine with this since you can still tell that Greninja is related to froakie through body type alone.
This is however not the deal with monkezuma, as chimpoca and simayan it has bracelets and it is a small ape in body shape, when it becomes Monkezuma it changes drastically in body shape and goes from balanced to a really top heavy gorilla instead of a small ape, the only remaining trait from Simayan it has is the headband which also has reduced detailing (which previous evolutions put some attention to but monkezuma just completely ignores it). If it werent for it being one of the two monkey lines we have in this game I would personally not have related simayan to monkezuma because of their huge differences. Putting the bracelets on Monkezuma would give it the defining trait that would give the entire line a bit of consistency.
