Removing combat variety is the opposite of fun. In fact the mechanics only get better with every generation, power creep is the only reason one generation might understandably be preferred over another. Gutting mechanics and complexity is MAKING THE GAME LESS FUN.
I don't care if sales get boosted, Gamefreak has always been capable of doing better with the budget they have, and LGPE doing well will just encourage more laziness and bad gameplay. Get the fuck off of /vp/.
