Dragonite got a shit load of buffs that have kept it relevant in the face of powercreep

It might be the most buffed Pokemon ever. That's why it's one of only 3 remaining Gen 1 Pokemon still seen in OU alongside Zapdos and Clefable. Alakazam, Tauros, Chansey, Snorlax, Gengar, Gyarados, Starmie, Venusaur, Exeggutor, Kangaskhan, Lapras, Jynx, and even Mew have all fallen off.
