It's 12 years since the BW games came out, and I still cannot get over how goddamned ugly the Genies are. If you like action and Pokemon doing a lot of superpowered stuff, this is the arc for you. The action sequences aren't too many steps below what the movies accomplish. I personally dug the intricate heist feel of the TRio's other missions (even though we didn't get to see the meteonite one play out), and their involvement in this one was basically just to tip over statues. The resolution of their involvement was also just for Ash, Iris and Cilan to shoot at the helicopter, which is something they do all the time.
>>54252984I think the filler really does stand out as exceptional on the Hoenn side of AG. I appreciate how much DP and SM structure their series in a way that reduces the number of episodes where nothing substantial happens, but there's just a characteristic zaniness that I love about AG.
