What I MEANT was that they work like tradiotional boss monsters in that you cannot befriend them mid-battle and have higher stats than the regular encountered monster. The way that they AREN'T handled that makes them so easy to beat is their small HP. Traditional JRPG boss monsters have a HUGE HP stat so it becomes impossible to power or cheese through them like regular encounters.
