Like, Nihilego removes inhibitions so any intrusive thoughts about controlling her children to suit her tastes and keep her close to her became reality. People who hated Lusamine hated her so because lots of people operate in black and white and don't like the fact that she did extremely horrible acts but was yet relatable with the whole "act upon your horrible ideas", they don't like to be reminded they could fall like her Nihilego or not and you could smell the fear (and autism) from their writting. There was the people who loved her for her style, poise, strong woman in a position of power with the resources and influence to do whatever she wanted and what she wanted was turn the world upside down to be with alian babies. Even when she had already gotten was she wanted and was at ease, she was unapologetically selfish (leaving Guzma to rot somewhere in the Ultra Space). Was appealing to people who love crazy bitches. And Mother Beast was the first of her kind in the main series.
USUM got rid of almost everything people loved about the original character concept and replaced it with a lot of poorly stitched, poorly wrote character and character presentation. On top of that she almost becomes Giovanni's doll because we needed yet again more Giovanni pandering. The stuff with Mohn and her character getting closure about him was nice, but that's it. People wouldn't be so mad if this was the original character and it stayed like that to begin with, but we are supposed to buy that Ultra Lusamine is the "improved version" and bet all new marketing and promotion about her will be based on this one, because main paired version content rarely make a come back.
Pokeani was already giving us the family friendly "fun, tired business mom that tries too hard to appear hip and cool" Lusamine anyways.
