Consider that genning a Marowak, and breeding a Marowak, comes to the same outcome/conclusion: You obtain a competitively viable Pokemon. The literal only thing that is different is the amount of time and possibly money that I've saved breeding that Marowak. Not every person has the time and money to sit on their ass and grind up a team from scratch.

If this was for arguments such as, IV spreads you can't obtain or event moves not being legal, then fine. No other competitive game does this btw. VGC is only popular because of the brand. Any other Esport that forces you to jump hoops like this would fucking die within a month.
