>>35192971Well....where do I begin?
Routes 6, 7, and the manor all went well enough. No deaths (Despite the Furfrou double battle that took two of my mons when I tried this before), but I wasn't enthused about the pokemon I got: TWO grass/poisons in an Oddish named Organa (Play off of "Oregano" and "Morgana") and a Roselia named Zamasu (Dragonball Super and the rose theme). Even ranked up once in the Battle Chateau.
Connecting cave is where things started to go off the rails. My encounter was a Whismur I dubbed Snowflake (Whiney, easily scared, and cries a lot), which was the last pokemon I wanted and was sure I wouldn't end up using. While grabbing items around, I happened upon an otherwise unassuming Axew. It was only level 13, so I figured 75% health should be fine. That piece of shit new Dragon Rage. At level 13?! Fucking bullshit. RIP Psykokwak. Was hoping to replace him anyway, but not by carting out his corpse.
Leaving the cave, I got a Spoink. Named it Christie (From NJ, so "Chris Christie" is the first thing that comes to mind when I think pig) and moved on to route 9 where I got a Salandit. Awesome, I dig it. Named it Crikey (In honor of good ol' Steve Irwin), and decided to add it to my team in place of Bibarel, who at this point I realized leveled from 14 to 16 in the fight it evolved, BYPASSING water gun, making him basically useless anyway.
In Glittering Cave I scooped up a Cubone named Orpho (Orphan), and cleared the cave without incident. But I figured, there's a free heal right outside the cave, might as well take the chance to grind! And I got greedy. I didn't think Floette would get ripped as hard as she did from a bonemerang from a cubone several levels below it, and let it fight with too low HP. It wasn't even a crit. This one's my fault.
