Please, just hold yourself back and make yourself busy on launch day, then look up the cutscenes (now that I'm typing this I can't imagine watching a fucking Pokemon cutscene outside of the immediate context since they're so static and awful) or read cliffnotes to answer any curiosities you have about Area Zero related reveals.
I'm tempted to get it too because I don't want to miss out on playing the new Pokemon, but S/V were so awful anon. I can't imagine booting them up again a few years from now; I'd sooner boot up SwSh again. I'm not giving this advice to stop your money from reaching Gamefreak I'm just saying it for your sake as well as my own. This gen isn't just dull or boring, the performance actively inhibits my enjoyment playing Pokemon and this DLC isn't going to do anything to fix that. And there won't be any interesting content or story beats worth fighting through those heavy issues for.
