While I do agree it was probably thanks to the protag that they became friends in the first place, Bianca is always relying on the protag because the protag has... well, protag powers, so to speak. They're always arrive first to whatever mess is going on. But also when you're doing shit alone, Bianca and Cheren arrive together to find you, so there's obviously more going on.
Like you said, I don't think there's anything wrong with Bianca/Hilbert either. But I think they're both equally making sense - my first "is far superior" comment was usual teasing.
