I got on autopilot fighting the rockets. Shannon's psybeams for the poison types, Mr. Eko's brick break for the raticates. Repeat a few dozen times and defeat the mafia. So I just waltzed into the final executive fight and totally forgot about the houndour and houndoom! For fuck sake, it is not as if I have gone through Johto 4 times already, how was I supposed to know?! Managed to get by the houndour but the houndoom was just too much. Mr. Eko's 3rd wife is dead and he joined her this time. Just terrible, they were my best physical and special attackers.
My reserve pokemon pool is so thin that I now have four water types! Poliwrath can threaten a wide range of enemies with its movepool and Corsola came with status healing and recover. individually they are great. But together; it just will take just one electric type to have an awful day. I didn't go with Sunkern because I cannot evolve it till post-Elite 4.
I also think I only have 3 or 4 encounters left before the league. Route before the Ice Path, the Ice Path itself, the route south of Blackthorn, and maybe the cave attached to that route? I need to double check if there are any new pokemon for me in there or just the usual rocks and bats. Starting to have my back up against the wall here.
