Nowadays finding a semblance of balance in Singles is nigh-impossible, VGC fares a bit better, but it still suffers from the same problems Singles has even if by a lesser extent.
I honestly will never be able to comprehend how GF fucks up more and more with every passing Gen. I mean, I know it's Pokemon and Pokemon will never be truly 100% balanced, no game ever will, but some of the shit Gamefreak does is straight-up retarded. Sometimes I wonder if there's not a single person at Gamefreak who plays competitively, it's the only possible explanation.
Or maybe they just don't give a fuck and like to lick everyone's tears. I don't know.
