Charizard is a fire-breathing dragon just the same as Cinderace is a football/soccer-playing rabbit. You're free to imagine literally anything else about your own Pokemon. It's not that fucking hard to come up with something that makes your Pokemon special. If you can't imagine anything else other than what the game's flavor text gives you because you fell for some Youtuber-ass argument into believing that something is defined only by its one most prominent character trait, that's your own problem for being uncreative.
And I'm not arguing in favor of their designs either. I hate Pokemon like Cinderace and Inteleon with a passion, but they aren't bad because "muh jobmon", they're bad because the design elements Gamefreak chose to combine their associated animal and theme were ugly as hell. It's not corelated either, because I saw a really good fan rendition of the two that kept the themes.
