The only Gen I don't have a favorite from is Gen 7, which makes sense since it's the only one I haven't finished. I think the Ultra Beasts are really cool but the actual Alolan mons are pretty mixed and overdo the tropical theme. Also the Alolan Kanto mons are about a 50/50 between something neat and some of the ugliest shit in the franchise.
Gen 6 and 8 are also very shaky though, Gen 6 has the fewest Pokémon of any Gen and is relying hard on Megas which maybe shouldn't even count. Gen 8 is also being carried hard by the fact that Legends Arceus is technically a Gen 8 game, if I was only picking actual Galar mons I don't think I'd have many strong options.
