To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pokémon. The battle system is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of JRPG's most of the gameplay will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also the rivals excruciatingly annoying outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- their personality draws heavily from any generic literacy piece, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this invigorating gameplay, to realise that it's not just good- it say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Pokémon truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the companies existential catchphrase "Gotta catch 'em all!" which itself is a cryptic reference to American lynching taking place in the 1950s. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Satoshi Tajiri's genius wit unfolds itself on their gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advanced, nintendo DS, and nintendo 3DS (ones not playing the TRUE pokemon games are even worse then those at don't play Pokémon). What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Pokémon tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 Showdown ladder points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
