It's been beaten on since gen 1 when Charizard seismic tossed it into the volcano and it's mostly been downhill ever since. Beating Rockruff in SM only to lose in a rematch was probably the best deal it's gotten, followed by beating a Bibarel 3 on 1 just to lose to Dawn's Piplup almost immediately after.
