Even if you don't like the guys work, at least its not the same old cartoon-with-realistic-texture BS. It's a unique interpretation. Even if he has a few designs you really hate (ice spider, dino scyther, bug giratina) he's done hundreds of the fuckers. Go look at some of the other ones. His starters are all pretty badass.
Or, better yet, if ugly espeon ruffles you so bad, just go look at the thousands of other drawings of cute and pretty espeon. One ugly espeon isn't the end of the world. It isn't detracting in any way from your own interpretation.
The dude inspires a lot of people to draw more. I've seen them say it to him at conventions. He's a good dude.
