Anon, every - single - Pokemon - game is incredibly easy. Pokemon might honestly be the consistently easiest game series I have ever played and I've played a lot of games. Almost every single encounter in every one of these games can be summed up to "make sure to match the elemental weakness" and the depth ends there. You are comparing feathers and silly putty in terms of toughness. "But they're easy compared to other main series" so what? Sure, they didn't need to make building a team more streamlined, but it barely makes an impact on how much difficulty I'm supposed to experience while playing through these games.
I'm not going to discuss story, because story is a lot more subjective of a matter but you need to let the difficulty complaining go. And "memorability" doesn't mean much of anything. Any experience in these games can be memorable for one way or another. For me, XY provided more longevity anyway thanks to a much more vibrant online scene than past (and even most future) gens.

I have no idea why you're getting so defensive about how much or how little time you spend on Pokemon, anon. I'm just telling you the truth there really isn't that much to do in these games. You have a short campaign, a decently long collectathon, and a few side quests/areas - that is factually what is in them.
If you choose to spend your time doing the same things over and over for no other reason than you find it satisfying all the more power to you.
If you're getting mad that's how I'm describing your playstyle, then grow up. It's not an insult.
