Hey /vp/, I'm team building, and I'm in need of two things for my final slot: A reliable physical buffer, and a counter for for Fighting-type pokemon and moves. I have two thought-up options, each with advantages:
1) Weezing, Bold, HP and Defense EV Spread w/Leftovers
Will-O-Wisp, Thunderbolt, Sludge Bomb, Pain Split
>A fairly standard set. I want to opt for Sludge Bomb instead of the common Flamethrower because with TB/FT, any Water/Ground could wreck me six ways from Sunday. My only worry is the possibility of Steel Types coming in. However, my other teammates play around with Toxic and Thunder Wave, so replacing Will-O-Wisp with Flamethrower (which has a chance to burn anyway) is a possibility. Weezing's advantage is a great fighting resist and excellent physical bulk.
2) Leafeon, Jolly, 252 Spd / 140 Atk / 116 Def
Leaf Blade / Aerial Ace / Yawn / Synthesis
>Leafeon here could theoretically switch into a Fighting-type move, take the hit with Aerial Ace from its 110 base Attack to hopefully banish the attacker. Yawn and Synthesis are good support moves. I Yawn, and they'll either switch to avoid the sleep, or take the sleep and switch out later. Either way, it gives me a good opportunity to use Synthesis in a pinch. Its advantage is that it has good physical bulk and physically offensive capabilities, which I like, because my other physical attackers are on the slower side of things.
What do you think, /vp/? Alternatively, I can scrap my Armaldo (Bulky Stealth Rock/Rapid Spin support with Rock Blast and Knock Off) and add both of these.
The Special side of things are handled by Mr. Mime and Mantine.
