>>36518677Maple's Pokemon are deliberately particularly edgy, as her methods are rough and she does a lot of battling in her spare time, even compared with most trainers. Her Tyranitar's name is "Armageddon" (though usually "Geddy" for short) since it seemed like a "cool" name a 10-year-old would give to a kaijumon. She's gotten more clever over time though.
The way I see it, it's normal for a Pokemon to somewhat adapt to the personality of its trainer. If you've seen Tuba and his creator's many drawings, they've got a "dire" theme going on, while Maple's are "fierce", looking sharper and dangerous to touch. That said, I could quite honestly do a much better Tyranitar nowadays if I tried (though giving her anatomy similar to one of the newer Godzilla incarnations was deliberate). Doesn't account for all of them though; the feathery Tyrantrum up there came from a quest in some ice caves, where she'd been frozen since prehistoric times. Not too sensical admittedly, unless some legendary's hocus-pocus caused it, but I wasn't writing it.
As a more realistic example, Wilhelmine here has a lotta shroomed-out Pokemon, as she's an alchemist that spends a lot of time out in swamps where lots of different fungi grow, to make potions and the like from, and has learned to cook all sorts of meals from them as well. So her Pokemon get a lotta spores growing on them, and her Torterra outright cultivates them.
