As far as the old fan art goes, I tried a few things. In the left example it uses the latest edit (I believe) I outlined where its body parts are now. Blue is the gold/brown stone ring thing that's just below its upper space parts, red is the "orb" of space that makes up its chest area thing, and the green is the lighter blob of space that's above the chest area/behind the head.
The right examples are after I tried moving the lower body around so it looked more correct. Do either of them look more correct?
Anyway while the new Sugi's pose is definitely more "boring" I think it serves the purpose of a Sugi better than the old fan art, which is to show off as much of the design as possible.
