Should I combine it with a monotype run? Not too many monotype options for gen 2 though. Water seems like the easiest, it'd allow me to pick up red Gyarados as a freebie, and Suicune is an easy sr hunt.
Fire type is... possible. Soft reset for a shiny cyndaquil, then I can soft reset the odd egg for a shiny magby early on. Can grab a flareon/growlithe as well, should be easy as they're the same egg group as cyndaquil. Entei is possible too, but that grind is autistic. I can get a full team of 6 before the elite 4 if I grab a pontya.
