the 'armour' was based on how reefs grow on rocks, plus it would fit the typings
but then the male turned into a sand castle which was cool, but kinda throws the coral theme a bit off...
so i made the little one like the gooey stuff inside a muscle shell (also kinda crossed with a clam, hence the pearl)
and that makes the armour theme a bit more relevant
its basically coral/royalty/shellfish/gender/armour
might sound too much but thats how imagination works right?
