>>49893161they've cut back on the Kaiju mons a bit. They were a staple of the first few gens but I honestly don't think we've seen one in a while. The closest we've been in a while is GMax, and there are a handful of Pokemon in each generation that look like a Kaiju, but they don't fit this archetype of being a "Kaiju" Pokemon (fat, big, mean looking assortment of monstrous features that learns a lot of different shit).
>Gens 1 and 2 have Nidos, Rhydon, Kangaskhan and TTar for Pokemon that directly hit the criteria tho you could argue a lot of other Pokemon from these 2 generations more than any other Gen look like they could be based on Kaiju too (Scyther, Blastoise, Hitmons...)>Gen 3 has Aggron and (arguably) Exploud and Slaking. Armaldo LOOKS like a Kaiju too but whatever, doesn't count>Gen 4 has Rhyperior. But there's a lot of Kaiju looking mons in this Gen as well (Garchomp and Tangrowth come right to mind)>Gen 5 has Haxorus which fits most of the archetype. Volcarona also exists as a clear Mothra expy but doesn't hit all the criteria here>Gens 6 & 7 don't really have any Pokemon that fit this archetype. There's Pokemon that kind of look like Kaiju (A-Muk and Turtonator come to mind), but they don't hit the criteria. I guess Megas for TTar and Aggron count tho, especially because Mega TTar is a direct reference to Space Godzilla>Gen 8 has Duraludon as a professed Kaiju that does hit some of the criteria, and then there's GMax which is basically Kaiju battles for a lot of Pokemon but it's only in appearanceI atually wish we had more Pokemon that fit this mold. It would be really cool to see a genuine knockoff of Gamera or Ultraman thrown in that can pull off all sorts of crazy bullshit just like the rest of the "true" Kaiju mons. And while Duraludon is meant to be our Mechagodzilla, I wish that beta mon Omega became a reality bc it fits the theme so much better.
