>”Nothing” and “small stat buffs” are kind of misnomers desu. Furret and Noctowl have received notable new moves (mostly Coil for Furret and multiple special options for Noctowl). Smeargle is meant to be a gimmickmon, and Miltank is a counterpart to Tauros and has a lot of press because of Whitney.
