For starters, this line inexplicably becomes part Rock and picks up fire attributes at the same time. They still resemble the original Pokemon, however now are made of volcanic rock. This is completely out of left field and does not seem to relate to the original line in a logical way. They are not known for possessing objects or anything to do with volcanoes, nor are they known for having Elemental abilities necessarily. So the leap of logic to explain why they became this type might be a bridge too far. In short, this just seems too random and not clear to an audience what the connection is. I also want to point out that it's basically just a recolor if you think about it. Yes the last one had this problem sort of too, but there were little design touches to set it apart. This one just seems like you changed the texture and called it a day
