The origin of these things is pretty neat though, this "fake hide" made from wool yarn was originally made by vikings for sea travel, because the salt from seawater destroyed most leather and fur and took away their ability to keep people warm. Later on these were used as blankets durning the winter for staying warm, and in the modern day they're just straight up carpets and stuff you hang on the wall
