and most of all thank you Gamefreak! I started playing Pokémon Red for the very first time on my 3DS a while back. I just beat the Elite Four today but was low on health. I ran out of revives and knew I was broke. I had to do this. I HAD to beat “Blue.” I went into it with the following team :
Jolteon - Level 46 Charizard - Level 47 Snorlax - Level 45 Dragonair - Level 45 Articuno - Level 52 Gyarados - Level 45
It came down to his Blastoise and my Charizard. I was under leveled by basically twenty. Our baby starters had grown into these monsters and this was it. The last hoorah. I had paralyzed him earlier with my Jolteon before she met her end at the hands of that vicious Hydro Pump. I felt it was to no avail. He kept attacking. He hit my Charizard with his devastating final attack. The Hydro Pump from the cold shell of his Tank Turtle connected. Spot on. I knew it was over. I had failed. I looked up and see I have 1 HP. I hit him with a Body Slam and it’s over. I did it! Somehow? I have never felt a more tense gaming experience in my life! I cried seeing my underdog team on the “Hall of Legends” screen. Thank you Gamefreak truly for a moment I will never forget!
I can see why this is considered one of the best games ever. I give it a 10/10.
