Previous Champions, except Kukui but he technically was a Champion, have never been so accessible in game. They’re usually aloof and have very little to no interaction with the player or storyline. Leon is there from the start and he’s shown to have his flaws. He’s not perfect, he’s just a normal guy.
I didn’t care for his design when it was first revealed and it’s still a bit absurd in my opinion but his part in the storyline appealed to me more.
