I was the first from the dozen or so friends in my town to add a Whimsicott to their team, and during our first few casual battle-fests, she survived a Giga-Impact at 1/3 health, and continued to recover to green health within a few turns. My friend's brother was SO SURE that the attack would take her down that he put down his DS and walked over to do a victory dance for killing the indestructible Lady Puff; when he realized that she still had 4 hp, we dang near had to hold him down he was so convinced that some kind of shenanigans had taken place.
Everyone else but one added a Whimsicott to their team within the month.
