honestly I'd take fewer since we're pushing close to 1000 now, write a dumb-simple plot about a team doing evil shit and a gym badge collection, let me play with all of my pokemon from the series in the postgame, and then rest on their laurels putting out the generational Kanto remake and the non-Kanto remake.
GameFreak should only have to ACTUALLY exert anything even remotely resembling effort every 2-3 years. Them being incompetent does not make my hopes "high", it makes them incompetent.
Drones keep acting like the fanbase is asking for the Sun, Moon, and Stars, but people just want the bare minimum of what we've come to expect from the series, and GameFreak can't even manage that despite most of the work already being done for them.
