Most offers are unreasonable or request Pokemon that are impossible to obtain/trade. It seems people only use the GTS for showing off their shiny Pokemon. I've heard that it's because people need the extra space when their PC is full, but I don't get why you can't just release a single Pokemon from your PC (especially if it's one that you can quite easily obtain in-game, like Patrat in Gen V).
It also bothers me that you can only request Pokemon you've seen or caught. It's not like I use the GTS purely for Pokemon I've seen (or already caught).
I'm guessing it's better to just ask via /vp/ or another forum if I want a Pokemon I have yet to see. That or I should take part in Black Tower more often, but that doesn't help me if I'm trying to get an event Pokemon like Celebi.
In other words, give me some reason to use the GTS, /vp/.
