>>37903407Pokemon, just like all big media include a big game with immersive settings and a different universe. Harry Potter sucks but has its own world, and I loved that shit as a kid. Star Wars, star fucking trek, all have lore and a universe. Pokemon is a GAME, with a UNIVERSE? That's like our own? But instead there's monsters?? Fuckin awesome. That's why people enjoy pokemon. An immersive world to just hide yourself in, imagining you really are in a colorful world with monsters that love you as their trainer when in reality you're either a dumb kid with a broken home or an adult suffering major debt and death of a loved one. It's an escape from the real world into a virtual one, and it does a good job of that, atleast for the earlier titles.
