Of course, as development shifts and levels change, sometimes parts that were in earlier versions get forgotten about. Games with long development histories like half life 2 have all sorts of little things here and there that are the last remnants of a scrapped idea or level layout. Stalker is full of this shit, with just about every other planned feature or area getting cut either due to time constraints, technical limitations, or the devs just had a change in vision for that specific thing. There is a cut mutant lioncat enemy in the code of stalker, and all though it is no longer in the game, a taxidermied one can be found in one or two places in the game, and the sounds of a cat meowing can be heard in the ambience sometimes.
