Got called upon a couple times by a friend to help their kid recently. They got a 2DS and Omega Ruby for christmas and being 7 years old, she occasionally gets stuck. First in Slateport where she got stuck even after "talking to everyone in the museum" (except the plot-relevant guy tucked away on the second floor), and not knowing how to use rock smash. My favorite part was her telling me "magma guy" (Maxie) talks to much so she doesn't like him. Poor kid has only 5 pokemon all of which are woefully underleveled for whats to come, but she's made it through much of the game on her own (including the magma-maze base) so I bet she'll be alright.
Kinda makes me feel old and bad for taking my knowledge of how to play these games for granted. XY was a brand new thing, yet I never once questioned what to do or where to go next.
