>>47487918Emerald. My parents bought it for me on the NA release month and I've replayed it so many times since, and yet I still find out things about this game to this day that surprise me. A lot of this was covered in that "RARE FACTS" thread a couple of days ago:
> After you’ve had some success at the battle tower, you will be approached by someone wanting to be your apprentice. Over time you will tell him what pokemon to use, what items, what strategies. He thanks you and leaves. Now you can run into him as a tower opponent, where he’s the only NPC apart from Anabel to have normal dialogue. You can also have him as a partner in multi battles. In total you can mentor 14 different NPCs, all with a different pokemon pool.>The nearly impossible-to-obtain regi dolls (pic related)>Walda, the sick child NPC in rustboro, allows you to design your own custom PC wallpaper: https://www.pokewiki.de/Spezial:Geheimcode-Generator?uselang=enExplorers of Time/Darkness/Sky is my favorite spinoff, I don't know why fans of the main games consider it a slog to play when it feels more like an RPG than the mainline pokemon games sometimes. I love preparing loadouts, building specialized teams, planning ahead for perilous expeditions and using items to get my way out of tough situations. For me, doing stuff like this makes me feel more immersed in the world. Yeah, the 99F dungeons are needlessly long, except for the zero isles where it feels necessary as a completionist's challenge.
