>>56783842I don't think it beat red/blue, but beating as much as it did is still impressive even if they did have a slight advantage with gamepass and the lower price tag. More importantly is that it embarassed them with how expressive and personality filled the creatures were. It's providing what the normies have wanted for decades and wrapped in a layer of "pokemon with guns" memetic safety so that the people playing it don't feel childish talking about it in public.
Better still is Sony seems to be pushing for a bunch of other media/merchandise. They may be looking to make palworld into the playstation pokemon, and the thought of actual competition probably scares the everliving shit out of TPCI.
