So, if all the monsters look like this, the product has failed.
Gen 6+ models are so bad, that it has actively killed my interest in collecting the monsters.
I don't know if Sprites would be enough at this point. They were charming for the time, but were past a decade without them. I don't know how well they'd fare now
My approach would be simple. Dexcut a LOT of mons. Like, over half of them. Then spend a generous amount of time providing quality models, and more importantly, animations to all the pokemon. Make more idle or overworld animations, to make them feel alive while they are in your party. Maybe even have interactions between pokemon.
Make a world full of creatures I want to see. Then you can add more creatures in future games.
