This makes Gen 6 a 4-game Gen, something that hasn't happened since Gen 1.
It makes sense that this Gen would be extended that long anyway, because of the massive visual upgrade, jumping Gens as fast as say, Gen 5, would be too quick.
Unless of course the Gen 1 remakes are considered part of Gen 7, but I honestly can't see them starting a Gen on remakes.
Oh, and Gen 4 is not being remade soon, if ever. Mainly because you can still bloody order the games, and play them on your latest 3/2DS no problem. There's no demand.
