I'm nuzlocking Heartgold and currently going through Morty's Gym. I'm fighting a random trainer and my Togetic has been cursed and I needed to swap out for the next Ghastly encounter before Curse kills Togetic. I switch out to Nidorina and the Ghastly uses Mean Look, locking my Nidorina in.
This is where I fucked up. The only feasible moves that Nidorina can use on a Ghastly is Poison Sting, which can't even poison because Ghastly. I find this out after selecting POison Sting and it does a sliver of health. Ghastly then uses Confuse Ray. I try again but then Nidorina hurt itself in confusion. Ghastly uses Curse, dealing 20 HP per turn to Nidorina. She then proceeds to use Night Shade from that point, dealing 40 HP per turn total to Nidorina.
I'm spam healing at this point, trying to waste all the Night Shades, and I barely had enough to waste all the PPs. Ghastly proceeds to spam Confuse Ray, I try to heal the Confuse Ray only to get confused again. I used X Attack to try and boost the Poison Sting, and hoping I would be lucky enough to hit the Ghastly that was in the yellow, because if she hits herself from confusion, she will die from the Curse, because I have no more Potions or Super Potions or spare Hyper Potions or Max Potions I found with the itemfinder.
Nidorina hit herself in Confusion and died from Curse. Everything was fine after that, and it was my second death, but fucking Christ I'm actually mentalyl deficient. I just wanted everyone to have EXP, and I forgot about her moveset. Now I need to train up a new memeber and I'm out of Potions. At least I have a Nidorino, Rivalry though.
